Finding Her Path: Camille's Journey of Growth and Community at nEbO

 

Camille, 23, is not just a student at Singapore Polytechnic; she’s an inspiring youth leader who has embraced her journey, overcoming challenges and making a significant impact with nEbO. Starting her educational path at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Camille took the longer route, but along the way, she discovered her passion for community service, formed lasting friendships, and developed into a confident leader.

 

From Comfort Zone to Core Team: Camille’s Favourite nEbO Memory

 

For Camille, one of her most cherished memories with nEbO was Kids Day Out 2024. Tasked with the Logistics & Finance role, she initially felt out of her comfort zone, admitting that technical tasks and numbers weren't her strengths. However, with the guidance and support of her core team, Camille not only managed to overcome her apprehensions but also thrived in her role, learning valuable skills along the way.

 

“It was a challenging yet rewarding experience,” Camille reflects. “I realized that sometimes, stepping into roles that make us uncomfortable can lead to the most growth. I’m grateful for the guidance I received from my core team—it truly made a difference.”

Camille’s Tips for Future nEbO Leaders

 

Embrace Every Opportunity: Camille encourages future nEbO leaders to fully embrace the opportunities that come their way. Whether it’s volunteering for events or contributing to meaningful causes, Camille believes that nEbO empowers youths to turn their passions into action. “If you have the desire to spearhead your own projects, go for it!” she says, inspiring others to take the initiative and make their mark.

 

Build Bonds and Have Fun: For Camille, the friendships she’s forged within nEbO have been among the most rewarding aspects of her journey. She advises fellow members to play hard and bond with one another. “Over the past few years, I’ve met amazing youths who, despite being in different stages of life, all possess a shared passion towards the community,” Camille shares. She emphasizes the importance of building connections and having fun, as these relationships form the backbone of the nEbO experience.
